Gosh, this family!!!
Returning clients are one of the greatest compliments you can give a photographer.
This family has been in front of my camera since their oldest ( yes, that stunning red head ) was a tiny baby!
I love watching my SWP families grow, evolve and documenting them is such a gift.
My love for you guys, ahhh! And your babies… that Emily has a special place is my heart!
May God Bless you always!
I have mentioned in the past that whenever friends and family
ask to get in front of my camera, my nerves are higher than usual.
I’m settled and comfortable with my craft, confident even…
But having the people I love and care about asking me to document their most precious moments in their lives …
It’s always an honor.
Lisa and Matt are getting married in April of 2017.
They wanted their engagement session to be easy,
reflecting their personalities and their love.
I suggested staying local since their wedding festivities will be here in the SouthBay.
Torrance Beach and Madrona Marsh were our picks… and I think, they were the perfect backdrops for this spring couple!
We are officially back in the grind of school, sports, play dates, homework, family dinners and trying to find the balance in it all.
I grew up in a small house with a Mom who never took anytime for herself. I watched her slip away into a deep darkness that was the culprit to her life ending way before it was meant to. I specifically recall watching her move through the motions of laundry, cooking and everyday mom things with a blank look on her face like she felt nothing at all. Run down, and exhausted with zero inspiration.
My personality has always been very different from my Mom’s. Although I have core beliefs that are the exact same and our laugh is pretty identical, my Mom was an A type personality… always wanting to be in control of everything around her. She existed in the mundane because the mundane was predictable. It was safe.
I’m haunted by the mundane. It’s the artist in me.
This maternity session…
Mark and Caitlin are very special to the Wilks Family.
Not only because they are family but because throughout the last few years,
we have become very good friends.
When they asked me to photograph this time in their lives, I was beyond flattered.
And then when they said they wanted to do it at Victoria Beach in Orange County,
As a Portrait Photographer, I was even more excited.
The session went as perfectly as it could… With a lavender swirl- kissed sky and
This sweet baby -belly love… I soaked up every minute.
Marlene and Isaac found me on The Knot.
I fell in love with them and their story and knew that I had to document their wedding.
You can see their engagement session here!
These two married on a beautiful August day.
The weather was warm and welcoming. The details were stunning…
And these two were just as perfect as I expected them to be.
